If you are aware of Maxis’s recent 3G speed upgrade, you might be interested to hear this. Currently Maxis is having a promotion where you can subscribe to their broadband plan at a discounted price. Yes, the actual price is RM98 per month (6Gb bandwidth) but you can get it for just RM88 for the 1st 12 months.

Hello everyone. This time I received another rumour about Maxis. Since it is a rumour, it can be true or it can even be false. I hope that you don’t blame me at the end if it is not true
. Believe it under your own risk folks.
Yesterday, Maxis has introduced 3 new wireless broadband plans. These plans are catered for hardcore web users such as those who stream a lot e.g. YouTube and/or download a lot. I’ve mentioned about one of the plans in my previous post. Well, I will go through all the plans again
.
For all these plans, the speed are uncapped, which means you will get the best possible speed (maximum up to 7.2Mbps). However, the speed also depends on external factors such as location, device capability, distance from transmitting tower and number of people using the internet in your area at that point of time. Most of the time, you will not be able to achieve the maximum speed but from what I’ve tried before, you will get a decent speed.

As you know, Maxis is selling Motorola Xoom for RM2499. That includes a free Motorola Defy (during the promotion period).
My fellow Maxis 10 buddy has revealed in his blog that you can easily get a Motorola Xoom for just RM2099 & that is the same authorised set from Brightstar. Well, it is a standard package which does not include screen protector, case & HDMI cable. Hey, HDMI cable is not included? As I know, Maxis set comes with HDMI cable.

Maxis has announced today that they will be introducing dedicated plans for the new iPad 2 WiFi + 3G which will be launching tomorrow. I am not sure whether Maxis is going to sell iPad 2 but 1 thing for sure, they are definitely making sure that their customers has proper internet service to make use of the latest gadgets.
Below is the press statement :
Maxis today announced it will offer dedicated data plans for iPad 2 with Wi-Fi + 3G in the coming weeks. iPad 2 is the next generation of Apple’s magical device for browsing the web, reading and sending email, enjoying photos, watching videos, listening to music, playing games, reading ebooks and much more. The amazing new iPad 2 improves on the original iPad by being thinner, lighter and faster, all while maintaining the same incredible 10 hours of battery life. Maxis WiFi – I hope that everyone knows what a “WiFi” is in the 1st place
. So to begin with, I would like to ask a question. Do you think that the Maxis WiFi can be an alternative to your current mobile data plan?
As for me, I think that it is never going to happen. Firstly, Maxis WiFi service coverage is definitely not going to be everywhere. When it comes to WiFi service, the focus will be at big shopping complexes, commercial places etc. Let’s say you are travelling, at a highway. How are you going to access to internet then? Well, that is a point to think of.

Do you remember few weeks ago where I’ve mentioned about Maxis coming up with new services to enhance its customer experience? Maxis Wiki is part of that mission where you can get most of the answers for your Maxis related issues and queries from there.
Well, at the moment I shouldn’t use the word “most” because it is still a little “empty”. It is understandable because Maxis has just kicked off this service today and as time goes by, you will find more topic / article which you can use as a reference.
If you would like to take a look at Maxis Wiki, here you go - http://wiki.maxis.com.my/
I do not have a clear idea on what is this multi-play service all about. Anyway, it was just launched today and there should be more info on that soon.
Based on what I understand, it is an choice given to customers where they can select any rich content and value added services offered by Maxis e.g. channels or videos on demand or any similar services. This can be obtained in any format that they (customers) like Not only that, they also have the freedom to access all the contents that they choose from any device, whether its a computer, laptop, iPad or even mobile phone.
