I’ve received a Nokia N9 phone on loan from Nokia last friday. It is already a week now but I’ve not tested it enough. Usually it will take me at least 2 weeks to completely test a phone and this Nokia N9 will not be an exception.

However, I’ve decided to post some unboxing photos of this phone as well as my 1st impression (which will be in my next post).

Let’s take a look at some photos :

When you get yourself a Nokia N9, it will usually be sealed. Can you see a blue seal at the bottom of the box? Yes, that will be the one. However, when you buy from 3rd party phone shops out there, there is a possibility that the seal may be broken. Not a big deal though. Just check whether the items inside are still intact and also, ensure that the seller has not changed the original accessories with counterfeit item.

If you do not want to go through all that hassle, might as well get it from an authorized Nokia sales centre.

The set that I’ve got from Nokia is a 16GB version. There are 2 versions in the market if you are not aware of, which are 16GB version and 64GB version. As for the 64GB version, the only colour available now is black. I am not sure whether they are going to bring other colours for that version.

I was so happy that Nokia has decided to give me this colour (although it is just a loaned unit). Seriously, I was quite attracted with this colour even when Nokia announced it. There are 3 colours available for Nokia N9 – black, cyan and magenta (which looks like a pink colour to me). This is cyan. For me, black is more for business people who need a phone which looks professional. Magenta is for females or kids (well, anyone can use it actually) and cyan if for youngsters like me :P .

Well, what is that? Can you see it? It was under the phone. Oh, is that the back cover to close up the battery?

Ahh, it is a rubber case. You no longer need to worry of getting your phone scratched. This will protect your phone (excluding the screen). It fits the phone very well and will not make your phone look bulkier. Furthermore, there are some stickers behind the phone (SIRIM and Zitron) which makes the phone’s back look awful. This will help you to cover them without affecting your warranty.

Erm, by the way, the screen is a made of scratch resistant (but not scratch proof) material. It should be all right to use it (I mean use it, not abuse it) without a screen protector. If you are a hardcore person, then it is recommended to get a screen protector anyway.

Now, what else is inside the box?

Alright, that is what I’ve found inside the box. It is some instruction manuals and a warranty card. This set is an authorised unit (from Zitron).

Hold on, I still have something to show you.

From left to right : Nokia handsfree, USB cable and charger.

I am happy that Nokia has made the charger like iPhone where you can use the USB cable to charge your phone and also to connect the Nokia N9 to your computer. On some of the previous models, they made the charger separately (which I have no complaints) but the USB cable will be so short that I need to put my phone on the floor each time I connect it to my computer. I hate it. Now, it looks good :) .

I have a lot to say about this phone. Since this is just an unboxing session, I will save my words for my next post. However, I must definitely say that the Nokia N9 has so much potential. It has impressed me a lot. I will not say that the Nokia N9 is the best phone because it is still new and need a lot of improvements, but still, it is the best Nokia phone that I’ve used after Nokia E71.
