DiGi’s Turbo 3G network started off in Kuching and was expanded slowly to Miri and Lundu. Sometimes, it is quite frustrating when you were always under 3G coverage in e.g. KL and suddenly when you go to place which doesn’t have a 3G coverage, your internet service becomes a junk.
Good to see that DiGi is expanding their coverage with now having Bintulu in their coverage list as well. However, I must admit that their progress is very slow. It has been quite long since they launched their 3G services but there are places WITHIN Klang Valley which do not have a coverage e.g. my home.

DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (“DiGi”) has further broadened its mobile internet footprint in Sarawak with the expansion of its Turbo 3G(tm) network to Bintulu. With 3G population coverage of over 60%, Bintulu is the fourth division after Kuching, Lundu and Miri to have DiGi Internet services in Sarawak.
According to DiGi’s Head of Region Sarawak, Benny Wee Hong Guep, “This expansion is a proof point of DiGi’s commitment to provide Internet access in key market centres of Sarawak.
“The increased demands for our Internet services have encouraged us to continuously expand our 3G coverage to more areas and significantly improve our service offerings. However, we remain focused on delivering reliable connectivity at competitive prices besides providing good customer experience,” he added.
