Today when I checked at Tune Talk’s website, they have updated their BlackBerry page by having a short “FAQ” at the main page itself which explains their BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service).

Earlier when they newly launched the service, I was the one who said that it is time for me to dump my current telco but I actually made the right decision by being loyal. Well, I am not saying that Tune Talk’s BIS is not worthy or too expensive. All this while, I actually had an impression that Tune Talk is offering UNLIMITED BIS for just RM28/month.

Oh boy, I was wrong. Not my mistake anyway, because they (people behind Tune Talk) did not make their FAQ and T&C clear enough for people like me to understand. Well, they have now made it clear, short and simple which I appreciate.

From that “FAQ”, I can conclude that I can’t use many useful apps like FourSquare, Whatsapp and many other apps which functions in a similar manner but not listed there. That is a great disadvantage I would say.

I can’t stream videos as well (e.g. Youtube) but I already expected this. Even other telcos do not offer streaming and tethering for their prepaid BIS. So that is fine with me.

Now, I also see that I can’t download anything using my native BlackBerry browser. Earlier I thought that I can’t use WAP (yes, only WAP like how other telco does it) but what about using the native brower without connecting to WAP? Seriously this is where I get confused. Based on what I understand, whatever that you load on your browser e.g. my website @ http://blog.rodger.my/  involves downloading. There are images and script to download. So if download is not allowed, it means that we can’t use the browser at all, isn’t it?

Yes, some of you may say, “they have specifically mention FILE” but for me, the image on my site is considered as file. The script is a file (if you understand what I mean). Furthermore, how can they determine if we are downloading image (by loading websites) or just downloading some files? Well, it is getting a little complicated here, isn’t it?

I am just afraid that later when I am charged more for just viewing some websites, the customer service team is going to blame me for downloading. Do I need to go through such a hassle? By the way, will you go through such a hassle? What do you think about Tune Talk’s BIS plan now?
