To those who are waiting for Nokia E6 QWERTY phone, you do not need to wait long. Nokia has started its pre-order for this phone and that gives us an indication that the phone will arrive in Malaysia very soon.
The price has not been revealed yet but I am sure that those who have pre-ordered their units will be informed about the price before the launch day. I guess that the price will be anything from RM1100 to RM1200.
Now, I will briefly say a few things about the pre-order. That includes the good & bad about this process.
Advert :
1) You will get a free Nokia Bluetooth Headset BH-108 when you pre-order this phone.
2) read number 1
3) read number 1
Wow, there are quite a number of good points over there
. Now, let’s take a look on the bad side of this pre-order
The bad :
1) Nokia Bluetooth Headset BH-108 costs you about RM85. The phone will be sold at RRP (recommended retail price) which is definitely a much higher price compared to what you get from normal phone shops. Now, does the freebie attracts you? Furthermore in a week or two after the phone is launched, the price will definitely reduce to at least RM50. Now, is it worth to do a pre-order?
2) The current pre-order process is deemed very serious. Why? As you see from their pre-order page, there is no online pre-order. That simply means, it is not just a interest registration, but an actual pre-order. So, do I need to place a booking fee? I am not sure about this but it is very likely to happen.
3) Now, how do you make your booking then? You are required to walk-in to any of the Nokia Retail Centres below.
That is a hassle, isn’t it? Not everyone has the time and convenience to visit this place just to make a booking.
4) As usual, only those who are staying in Klang Valley can enjoy this phone when it is launched. Yeah, I agree. We are in an unfair world
By the way, if you would like to just register your interest, it is also possible. Just register with your email address (that is the only thing they ask for) and you will be notified once the phone is available. Not sure how effective it is because they don’t even ask for your location but on their page, you will see, “please enter your email address to find out when Nokia E6 is available in your area.”
I was quite interested to try this phone even though knowing that Symbian Anna will be a not very good choice. Well, I will definitely not make a booking because I rather wait for at least a week or two so that the price gets to a more “realistic” range. What about you?

UPDATE 27/5/2011 – The RRP has been revealed. It is RM1155 which is within my guessed range
