Maxis has officially launched the Motorola Xoom in Malaysia, today. With this launch, Malaysia will be the 2nd country in South East Asia to get this device.

From 6th May to 22nd May, you can get a Motorola Defy for FREE if you purchase your Xoom. The plans were not revealed during the event but I believe that it will follow the Maxis Broadband Plan (with 24 months contract) based on the press release statement.

The official distributor of Motorola Xoom will be Brightstar, a well known distributor when it comes to BlackBerry devices in Malaysia. I was told that Maxis will carry the exclusivity for this device and so, I am not sure whether you can get an authorised set from other local stores.

The Motorola Xoom is the 1st Android tablet which runs on Android 3.0 (Honeycomb).
