After going through some major renovation, the U Mobile’s flagship store at Berjaya Times Square is back to operation. To celebrate the grand re-opening, U Mobile has decided to give something for FREE. Well, from the image above, I am sure that you got the idea on what is happening.

Please take note that the buy one free one offer for Nokia E5, HTC Wildfire and Nokia 7230 is only for today (23rd March 2011) from 1pm to 7pm. That is only applicable if you buy these devices from the flagship store in BTS. As for the BlackBerry Curve 3G and Bold 9780, looks like the offer will be going on for the next 30 days, starting from today :) . You can grab this offer from any U Mobile centre nationwide during this period. Well, obviously you need to take up a postpaid plan for those buy 1 free 1 offers. As I know, you will be tied up into an 18 months contract. Now, my question is :

1) Do I need to subscribe for a postpaid plan for the other phone which I get for free?

2) Is there any specific plan that I need to take?

The offer is not very clear. Probably I need to check it out later at the flagship store :)

I’ve already confirmed with U Mobile and yes, you have to take up 2 separate postpaid plans, one for the “buy 1″ and the other one is for the “free 1″.

Both are tied under 18 months contract.

As for the BlackBerrys, the contract is 24 months.

Guess what… Those U Mobile fellows are so stupid… if u want to get sales, DONT place so many term and conditions on it…

    1. One cannot signup with EXISTING Number(MNP) or even their own UMobile existing prepaid cannot port in!!!
    2. One cannot buy anywhere BUT Times Square shop.

That will limit sales to about 300 lines of sales perhaps. If the above two is remove, then 5000 units also can achieve!!

my question is, how much do we have to pay upfront? Say for a BB Curve 9300. Do we have to pay normal price? Or RM500 as per their current deal on BB?
