I do not have a clear idea on what is this multi-play service all about. Anyway, it was just launched today and there should be more info on that soon.

Based on what I understand, it is an choice given to customers where they can select any rich content and value added services offered by Maxis e.g. channels or videos on demand or any similar services. This can be obtained in any format that they (customers) like Not only that, they also have the freedom to access all the contents that they choose from any device, whether its a computer, laptop, iPad or even mobile phone.

To those who have intention to get subscribed to Yes 4G but still in doubt whether it can be fast enough to satisfy you, probably a live demo would be helpful to you. If you have time tomorrow morning, turn on your NTV7 channel at 9:00am tomorrow to watch a live speed test demo by the CEO himself. :)

Well, please take note that the speed is not the only factor to be considered when you are getting a broadband device. I enjoyed using Yes 4G last time when it was launched. The speed was very good but hey, if your internet connection screws up, how fast can Yes 4G fix it? How quick can they attend to your complaints? How good is their customer service?

Some of my friends were also complaining that after they reload their credit, they were still not able to use the internet, even after few hours. How reliable is that? So I hope that you don’t blindly choose an ISP (internet service provider) by just looking at the speed. :)

Anyway, watch and enjoy the speed test show, tomorrow at 9:00am. It is a live show which will broadcast in NTV7 channel.

Today, Maxis has opened registration for Maxis10 review about this device. Well, that usually means that they are going to market the product very soon. When I saw that announcement in their Facebook page today, I was a little excited because this will be the 1st tablet PC from HTC.

Not only that, the specification of this device looks interesting too. It comes with 1.5Ghz processor, 32Gb internal storage, 5 Mpix main camera, 1.3 Mpix front camera. GPS, WiFi and many more. This gadget runs on Android 2.3 @ Gingerbread (unfortunately, not Honeycomb).

I hope that I can do a review about this device because I want to know how far better (or worse) is this HTC Flyer compared to the infamous Samsung Galaxy Tab. :)

Hopefully the price will not be too expensive for the HTC Flyer once it is launched in Malaysia.

Get your iPhone 4 & iPhone 3GS now at lower prices.

The moment I read that from Maxis website, the 1st thing that came to my mind was, “is Maxis clearing their current stock and getting prepared for iPhone 5? Well, that is what most of you would think as well. It is already nearing one year since Apple launched their iPhone 4 and we all know that iPhone 5 is coming soon. :)

Anyway, the prices have not dropped that much. It is about RM200 to RM300 cheaper now.

If you would like to know more about this current iPhone offer from Maxis, here is the LINK. If you are ever wondering on what was the previous price, I have the details with me. Somehow I manage to dig out my old posts and found it. Unfortunately, I don’t have details about the previous prices for iPhone 3GS.

Well, here is the link for iPhone 4′s old price (LINK). You will not find some plans there such as iValue Lite because this plan was just recently launched.

Google has not made their popular tablet OS, the Honeycomb an open source OS yet. This is quite surprising because all their Android versions from the beginning were made open-source.

This makes the 3rd party a little frustrated because Google’s policy for Android was to allow developers to tweak and modify the OS as they see fit.

According to Google, they do not want the developers to mess things up by experimenting it on a smartphone because this OS is not designed for anything other than a Tablet PC. Well, that doesn’t make sense to me.

Are you feeling that your device is a little sluggish ever since you update your device’s OS to version 4.3? Well, I feel that way for my iPad after updating to that version. Not only that, the battery doesn’t last as long as before too.

If that is the case for you as well, I advise you to update your software to version 4.3.1 immediately. You can now download it via iTunes. It is just a bugfix update. Below are the changes compared to version 4.3

  • Baseband updates for the 3GS and iPad (original)
  • Fixed memory hang that results in memory corruption when reading large files from USIM filesystem
  • Fixed problem with NTLM authentication in apps and on websites
  • Fixed issue with the Springboard and 3rd party apps not recgonizing the gyroscope on the iPad 2
  • Fixed iPad 2 jailbreak vulneratbility
  •

It has not mentioned anything about the stability and battery life but hopefully these issues doesn’t occur in version 4.3.1. I am now updating my software. Will test it out and see if there is any major improvement in battery life and OS stability.

When Facebook newly launched this “Places” feature, those who are staying in Malaysia were not able to use it. You will always see something like, “this feature is currently not available for your region”.

Now, you no longer get that message :) . I’ve tried in iPhone, Android and even BlackBerry. There is no issue using it anymore.
