Apple iPad started off its sales officially at Apple authorised resellers all over Malaysia. Many of them who bought a Singapore set or an imported set may have some regrets as the price of iPad sold by the authorised resellers are cheaper compared to price of an imported set
Ok, now let’s look at the price 1st. There are 2 versions of iPad. One is with only WiFi and the other one is with WiFi and 3G.
Remember the leaked photos of iPad data plan that I’ve shared with you few days back? (LINK). Well, it is no longer just a rumor because Maxis has posted their prices for iPad data plan live at their site

When it comes to launching new phones, Maxis will usually be the 1st telco. There are times where Celcom never got into the ‘race’ and as for DiGi, they are always the last to launch a particular phone as how it is perceived by customers. As I see, this is the 1st time Maxis is launching a phone much later than Celcom and DiGi.
Well, it is not too late (hopefully). It is just recently where all the telcos launched the most awaited Blackberry phone, the Torch 9800. Launching another model immediately after that will not be a good move, especially when it comes to Blackberry.
Ok, now let’s see what has Maxis got to offer.

This flyer was found (not by me) and from the information that you can see from there, looks like Maxis is going to introduce their data plan for iPad.
When I read that, I was really shocked. That is dangerous. People can easily steal your contents that you have saved into your memory card, only if you use an Android phone. This vulnerability was found by Thomas Cannon and he immediately informed Google about this before decide to blog about it.
How it happens? When you visit a malicious site where the hacker can access the content of your memory card if he/she knows the path. Well, knowing the path is not very difficult because the folders and arrangement are same in all Android devices
There are several factors for this to happen. One of them is due to Javascript in Android browser that doesn’t prompt the user when downloading a file.
Whoosh, there are quite a number of hacks and vulnerability that I’ve heard all this while. Does that mean that Android is lousy or it simply means that Android is very famous?
Anyway, this issue was quickly fixed by Google. So, relax.

I am one of the many unhappy customer of Yes 4G. I’ve bought my device on the launch day but until yesterday morning, I was not able to use it. Why? Because my Yes ID which I have pre-registered is “non-existent”. Yeah, they had a major screw up since ever since they launch their services.
I’ve sent numerous emails and Twitter DM to them but I did not get a proper response. Imagine getting an email which says, “we have received your email and will reply within 2 business hour” but did not get a reply for that, up to this very moment I am writing this post.
Even when my account was activated this afternoon, I was not informed about it. That is how poor their customer service is. At one point, I decided to dump it but I’ve already purchased the 4G dongle from them. Since I do not want to waste it, I gave it to my neighbour and he told me, “oh, I don’t need that JUNK”. That is how well people know about Yes 4G’s service.
But one thing that I like is about their speed. After my account was activated, I decided to give a try with my new Yes 4G dongle. Well, let’s put the pricing aside.
The moment I insert the dongle, the autorun popped up and this is the 1st installation screen.
Firstly I would like to thank HTC for giving me this opportunity to join them and celebrate the launch of their latest Android devices, the HTC Desire HD and HTC Desire Z. It was great to have those phones in my hands, although it was just temporary. The phones are impressive. I wish that I could do a review of them. Anyway, that will be another story.
Now, let’s take a look at some photo shots during the event :
I was there an hour early. During that time, there was some preparation going on.

I just came back from HTC’s official launch event. Will post the even happenings later
Now, let’s take a look at the phone details. The HTC Desire HD and Desire Z were launched just a day after their Windows Phone 7 device, the HTC HD7′s launch. Have you seen my preview report about the HTC HD7? If no, feel free to take a look at HERE.
As for the HTC Desire HD and Desire Z, I am surprised that both are priced at RM2299 respectively. Erm, not sure whether there is a mistake there because the Desire Z is inferior compared to the Desire HD if we compare the specifications side by side. Is it because the Desire Z has a physical keyboard which makes the price to be high?
Anyway, the price is definitely competitive, at least for the HTC Desire HD. I’ve checked a few places for an ‘imported’ set or ‘ap’ set, and the Desire HD was sold at RM2799. Well, the Desire Z was only about RM2099. So, what do you think? Are the prices competitive? Hey, even the HTC HD7 Windows Phone 7 is being sold at RM2399 by Maxis.
For me, the HTC Desire HD is definitely a good buy
. By the way, there was a rumor that Maxis will have the exclusivity for HTC Desire Z while HTC Desire HD will be sold openly, and well, you can get it from DiGi too
.
Pre-order (interest registration) by DiGi for HTC Desire HD has already started. Here is the LINK.
