Nowadays when DiGi gives something for FREE, I need to think twice, “how long will it be free?” Anyway, if it could benefit you until it is no longer free, then this is still useful isn’t it? ;)

So what is exactly free with DiGi Easy Prepaid? Have you heard of Friends & Family (FnF) ? I am sure all DiGi users are familiar with this.  They still retain FnF in the new prepaid plan but only limited to 3 numbers. Does it look bad? Actually no, because the other 3 number is under their new feature which is called “Buddyz”. Alright, what the heck is this Buddyz? This is where things comes for FREE :) . For these 3 Buddyz numbers, you can call and sms for free.

Not only that, you will also get 10 FREE sms to any network when you reload RM10 :) . Yeah, it is all for free (but hopefully they don’t come up with silly restriction later like how they did for DiGi Campus). Oh ya, another thing that is worth to mention. You will only be charged a maximum of RM3 per day for your internet usage (the old plan was RM5 maximum, am I right? )

Advert :

Below is the plan table :

* Please click on the image for larger view.

The unfortunate thing about this new plan is, if you are a DiGi Prepaid (RM1) user, you cannot convert this plan. Yes, you have read that right. Conversion from other plans are allowed except for :

  1. DiGi Prepaid (after daily usage reaches RM1)
  2. DiGi Biz Prepaid
  3. DiGi Family Prepaid
  4. Edisi Khas
  5. Prepaid Internet
  6. DiGi Prepaid™ Campus

If you are on any other DiGi prepaid plans except for those above, you can change to this DiGi Easy Prepaid for RM3 (yes, RM3 will be deducted from your credit).

Alright, now let’s discuss about the core features of this prepaid plan which is Buddyz :) . Similar to Friends & Family (FnF), you can add another number into your Buddyz list. It is only limited to a maximum of 3 numbers & all these 3 numbers must only be DiGi numbers (but it can be under any plan, prepaid & postpaid). The 1st 3 addition is FREE. After you have used up all the 3 slots, you will be charged if you want to change any of those numbers. How much will you be charged? It will be RM10 per change. Quite expensive compared to FnF change isn’t it? Well, since you can call those numbers for free, I think RM10 is fine :)

So, do you have any questions? Let’s discuss about it here :)

UPDATE 2/10/2010 : As for calls, you can’t call it entirely free. There is a limit of 60 hours per month. This is what DiGi says at their T&C :

If the Subscriber consistently exceeds the usage of 60 hours a month of FREE Calls, DiGi reserves the right to disable the Buddyz™ call feature without any notice. As such, the Subscriber shall continue the service thereafter without the Buddyz™ feature. It must be emphasized that DiGi shall not provide any notice whatsoever to the Subscriber prior to or after exceeding such limit.

Obviously you are at risk of being converted to normal plan but hey, 60 hours per month is huge. It will be about 2 hours per day :) . If you want to speak longer than that, you might as well go & meet up the person directly.

Another thing worth mentioning. As for the free SMS that you will get when you top up, it will only be a maximum of 30 SMS given at a time. So you may not want to top up more than RM30 at a time. :P

It is better to read up their T&C to understand better on the limitations of DiGi Easy Prepaid (LINK)

UPDATE 5/11/2010 : DiGi Easy Prepaid sim pack’s price is now RM16.80. You can still find some old stock for RM10.80 (if you are lucky and the dealer is not updated about this) but DiGi has officially increased the price to RM16.80. Pre-loaded credit is still the same – RM8.00.

validity means what?im using digi prepaid?how can i chage to buddyz but stil i wan my number to remain..?

    • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

Validity is the time given to make use of your credit. In other words, it is time given to make outgoing calls/sms/mms/internet.

If you are already in prepaid & would like to change to this easy prepaid plan, the only option is to port-out & then port-in back to that plan.

how to change from digi normal prepaid to this things? can i have the method of changing? will it affect the super sms i have?

    • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

      Hi.

If you are using the plans below :
      1. DiGi Prepaid (after daily usage reaches RM1)
      2. DiGi Biz Prepaid
      3. DiGi Family Prepaid
      4. Edisi Khas
      5. Prepaid Internet
      6. DiGi Prepaid™ Campus

you can’t change to this DiGi Easy Prepaid. However, there is a still a way, where you port out to another network & then port-in to DiGi Easy Prepaid plan.

If you are using DiGi Prepaid I like plan – Super SMS, then you can directly transfer to this new Easy plan but you will lose all the features given for Super SMS.

You can change your plan via UMB – *128#

      • http://Website Max

Then how to make super sms?

        • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

          Hi Max,

Super SMS is a plan itself, just like any other prepaid plans. You have to sacrifice the plan + its benefits if you want to convert to DiGi Easy Prepaid. You won’t get it back after that.

    • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

Sorry, didn’t get your point with “no longer exists”

      1) If your previous plan is Super SMS or some plans which DiGi has discontinued, then once you have converted to DiGi Easy Prepaid, you can’t go back to your old plan.

      2) Once you have changed to DiGi Easy Prepaid. You will enjoy new benefits from this new prepaid plan. You can no longer enjoy the benefits from your old plan.

      • http://Website ling

oh.. means if i changed, Super SMS will cancel la?

  • http://www.digi.com Chellish

that’s means after 5 days must reload again?can we reload RM5?

    • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

When you buy a new DiGi Easy Prepaid, the validity of the credit is 5 days. After that you need to top up in order to make outgoing calls/sms etc.

The denomination & validity is exactly the same as the normal prepaid plan.

Yes, you can top up RM5 at selected places.

  • http://Website ben

if we exceed 60 hours then get converted back to normal plan….nex month how?

    • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

If you exceed 60 hours per month quota, you are at RISK of being converted to normal prepaid plan.

If happens your plan has been converted, then you can’t enjoy the DiGi Easy Prepaid after that.

  • http://Website ben

    • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

The only way to check is via OCS where you need to total up the minutes of all the “free” calls.

So it is a self calculation :)

      • http://Website Renuga Devi

actually self calculation is very hard… so, can we just check by using *128#….. try 2 do something on that.. so, we all will know our free calls limitation.

This is not a promotional plan. So, there is no exact date to say on until when this offer lasts.

But DiGi can discontinue this plan anytime if they find it to be unsuitable.

hi…can i noe about the internet charge ? it ocst rm3, is it automatic charge when you use internet or need to subcribe ?

    • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

It is automatic. You do not need to subscribe. You will be charged on RM0.10/10Kb until it reach RM3. Once it reach RM3, you will receive a sms saying that you have reached RM3 & can use internet for free after that.

Please take note that the daily cycle is from 12am to 11:59pm. If you use internet at 11pm, your charges will be reset at 12am & the internet charges will start back from zero.

    • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

Yes, total 120 hours talktime. So you can call her for 60 hours & she can call you for 60 hours if both add each other as Buddyz.

Take note that it is not shared talktime, which means you can’t call her for 100 hours & she call you for 20 hours. It doesn’t work that way. Each number can only call their Buddyz for a MAX 60 hours per month.

    • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

It will not auto convert. It is just that you are at a RISK of being converted. Which means DiGi can decide to convert your plan anytime if they want.

To check hours used, you need to login to OCS (Online Customer Service) & total up all your minutes for free calls.

As for changing back to Buddyz plan, there is no specific answer yet, because DiGi has not even started to convert anyone to normal plan due to abuse :)

hi rodger, i want to ask how to connect to internet using usb modem with this prepaid? because i tried to change the APN and the dial number but still no luck.. tq very much

    • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

Hi mhn. May I have more details?

      1) what usb modem are you using? DiGi’s modem? If no, you need to check if your modem is locked.

      2) APN = diginet , dial number = *99#

      3) May I know what error message does it show when you try to connect?

  • http://Website mhn

the modem that i use is Smart Bro. apparently my modem is not locked because if i insert it with digi internet prepaid i could access the internet. by the way shouldn’t the APN is “3gdgnet” like the digi internet prepaid?

the error message states “cannot complete the dial up. Please check network connection” something like that. sorry the modem is not with me right now so i dont remember much the error message. tq again rodger

    • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

Then you may try changing the APN to “diginet”

3gdgnet is the APN for “internet only” sim from DiGi.

I guess it should work by changing the APN. :)

      • http://Website mhn

yes it works by changing the APN to diginet.. tq rodger.. the only sad thing is that malacca town has no 3g digi coverage.. have to surf slowly using edge :(

hi there roger, just wanna ask a few question about this digi easy plan. im currently using digi prepaid mtv powerpack. so, if i change my plan to digi easy prepaid, i will not be able to use the powerpack plan is it? and if i change my plan to digi easy, i need to pay only rm3 right? and then, does it affect the number on my fnf list? and in order to get the free calls and free message for the buddy thing, do i need to reload or so whatever first? or it will automatically credited in my account? pls reply. :)

    • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

      Hi norman,

Yes, correct. You will not be able to use your powerpack plan anymore after conversion.

Yes, RM3 and it is a one time charge.

Yes, your FnF numbers will be reset. You will need to key in all your FnF & Buddyz numbers again.

To make free calls/sms to Buddyz, you need to make sure that your line is active. There are 2 things which can make your line suspended :
      1) Validity expired and require top up
      2) Credit is zero. Require top up as well.

  • http://Website norman

    ok thnks. :)

  • http://Website norman

oh ya rodger, one more thing. what is the maximum number for fnf easy? and if i wanna change my fnf easy, how much does it cost?

    • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

FnF is 3 numbers & Buddyz is 3 numbers.

For Buddyz – registration of 3 numbers are free. If you change your Buddyz numbers (delete and add a new number), you will be charged RM10 per change.

For FnF – registration of 3 numbers are free. You can also make 1 free change (delete and add a new number). You will be charged RM2 for each number changed from the 2nd change onwards.

why in digi Easy dont hv a talktime transfer? im just curious..

    • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

Not sure. Internal matters. But looking at it, if there is talktime transfer, you can almost use your DiGi Easy Prepaid lifelong without any cost. Top up and then transfer the money out (sell to people) or ask other to transfer minimum amount so that you have enough validity to make use of the free calls.

    • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

      Hi Renuga Devi,

Many have addressed this issue even since DiGi Campus plan. DiGi’s may have some limitations for now & that is why they are unable to implement this I guess.

Anyway, once you have exceeded the limit, why do you need to use Maxis? You can use ANOTHER DiGi number :P

By the way, I am not related in any way with DiGi. So you may want to address your concerns directly to DiGi as well. Somehow, I have a feel that you have assumed me as DiGi’s representative :)

  • http://Website Dhania

Is there like a limit to how many hours I can call in a day (free)? Is it like 2 hours per day, 60 hours per month kinda thing. Or is it like free all year round to those 3 buddyz of yours like forever? Thats kinda awesome if it is. ;)

    • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

It is free 60 hours for 1 month. You can even use up all the 60 hours in a day (possible to use up 60 hours in 24 hours? :P ) & then restrict yourself from calling your buddyz until end of the month :)

1 more thing to ask…the internet maximum charge RM3 per day rite? after charge RM3 den i can free online the rest of day? any type of network oso free of charge? cuz my phone hv to on mms den only can receive data

    • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

This is actually pay per use system. You will be charged RM0.10/10Kb until it reaches RM3. Once it is RM3, you will not be charged further for that day.

Maximum RM3 calculation is from 12am to 11:59 pm. If you use your internet at 11pm, at 12am you will be charged again from zero.

Yes, any type of network band (2G or 3G /GPRS, EDGE, 3G or HSPA) will do. This is NOT applicable for Roaming :)

Hi shim, I advise you to use “Digi internet”.

If you use DiGi Wap, it is not counted as part of RM3 usage (that’s what I heard from DiGi last time for other prepaid plan)

            digi internet? how i get?

          • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

It varies depending on what phone are you using. Usually it will be at connection setting where you can see something as “access points”.

There are few options available there such as DiGi Internet, DiGi Wap, DiGi MMS and so on.

All you need to do is to go to your phone’s internet browser and set the access point of your browser to DiGi Internet (or sometimes stated as diginet).

          • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

Hi shim, you may need to check your phone manual on how to set up or change the access point. I have no idea on how to do that in your phone because I’ve never used SE :)

            Sometimes a restart might help.

If you have saved the new setting and made it default but it still shows the same access point, then the setting should be correct. Just monitor your usage to check if your bill/credit is more than RM3 in a day.

          • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1620280982 shim

by the way…sum brownser n sum program o web cant open (it no loading)

          • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

That is more towards the phone itself than the plan. I have no problem accessing some heavy content flash sites.

Not all phones supports full html and flash sites. :)

          • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

Oh, if like that it is due to wap access point. When you use digiwap, it will load wap sites e.g. wap.digi.com.my or mobile version of a site.

That could be the possible reason.

      1) If you look at DiGi’s website (LINK), it is mentioned that you can port-in and take this plan. To be exact, it is statement number 5.

      2) If you can’t port-in (MNP) to DiGi Easy Prepaid, you wouldn’t even have the option to choose this plan when you port-in online :)

The agent has given you false information.

      • http://Website viruser

BUT I HAVE ALREADY RECEIVE THE SIM PACK. i haven activate it yet. im still using hotlink line. any suggestion?

if dun have credit, can the DIGI EASY PREPAID sms or call to the buddyz on fnf ?

    • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

For Buddyz, your line must be active, which means you must have 1 cent credit and you must have validity. Only then you can make free calls/sms to your Buddyz.

For FnF, you must have enough credit.

  • http://Website wan

orh, tat mean at least need to have 1cent just can make free sms/calls?

the FnF maximum can input how many ppl ?

    • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

      Yup :)

FnF 3 numbers and all must be DiGi numbers.

Last time I used Super SMS, now i’ve changed my plan to DIGI easy but I want to change back to SUPER SMS, is it possible?

    • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

      Hi,

No it is not possible. :)

  • http://Website grace

    Hello,

If i have only one number for Buddzy, can I just key in one number 1st? and then only key in the other two next time?

Also, for FnF number, is it under Digi Easy prepaid plan?No surcharge will be applied for the 1st 3 FnF numbers, right?

If i change my plan now, can i use it directly without getting any charges apply on my mobile phone usage on Buddzy?

    Thanks

    • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

      Hi Grace,

Yes, you can key in the other 2 numbers later

Yes, for FnF, to add the 3 numbers will free. No charges.

Sorry, don’t really understand this part. If you change to Easy Prepaid plan, once has been changed, you can use Buddyz without any extra charges.
Take note that you will be charged RM3 to change from those specified DiGi plans to Easy Prepaid Plan.

  • http://Website digiuser

i got sms to send TO 2000, BUT NOTHING HAPPEN >>>>AIYOOOK

some one help , is internet available or not thru this digi easy prepaid package…

    • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

You do not need to subscribe to anything. Can just start using it straight away, provided that you already have digi internet settings in your phone.

It will charge you 10 cents / 10Kb but once it reaches RM3, there will be no further charges to your credit for that day.

You will also receive a sms once you have reached RM3 :)

  • http://Website Patrick

60 hours per month? I didnt know that and they didnt say anything about that.. can i check how much hour i spend and how much left?

  • http://Website yanyan

lets say i have no credit. it is applicabe for me to call and sms the buddyz list ?

  • http://Website Yiinz

I’m using DiGi Easy Prepaid . You said “Buddyz™
UNLIMITED FREE calls and SMS to 3 DiGi numbers” , right ? Then why every calls end up itself when 45 minutes ?!

    • http://Website sylvester

I think it’s your Phone Problem, because some of sony will auto end up the call every 1.30 hour or 45 mins

      • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

Hi sylvester and Yiinz, yes it is true that the calls will cut off automatically after the 45th minute if you use a DiGi line. This is to avoid the line being abused and to overcome call congestion issue.

Imagine people call their BUDDYZ and then ask the other party to hold on (the call still going on) while they take shower or have their meals. That is a disaster :)

  • http://Website nurain bt a’zmi

cam maner sy nk dpatkansim digi easy prepaid?

  • http://Website gyna

Hi..can i change the number in my BUDDYZ?How to chge?

    • http://Website sylvester

loL just press *128*3*1# and you’ll find your buddyz number are listed there and then remove one of those number and then add a new number again :) AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE AT LEAST RM10 CREDIT INSIDE IT, BECAUSE IT’LL CONSUME RM10 FOR THE REQUEST :D

  • http://Website sylvester

Hi Rodger :) Digi Easy also contain internet rm3 per day right? so do i need to subscribe it from *128# just like the normal prepaid rm5 per day or i just straightly online and it’ll automaticlly stoped charging while it reach rm3? if it need to subscribe, thats mean it’ll consume rm3 everyday until my credit gone rm0.00 is it?

    • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

Hi Sylvester. No, you do not need to subscribe in order to enjoy the internet for RM3/day.

Just use your mobile internet as usual and you will be charged RM0.10 for every 10Kb until it reach RM3.

Please take note that the charges will be reset to zero at 12am every day.

      • http://Website sylvester

Thanks a lot! :D DIGI Always the smarter Choice <3

  • http://Website Daren

Hi Rodger, may I know how they charge for international calls, SMS and MMS for buddyz and also FnF?? Thx =)

  • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

    Buddyz – calls = FREE, SMS = FREE, MMS = RM0.10/mms

    FNF – Calls = RM0.12/min (30 sec block), sms = RM0.01/sms, MMS = RM0.10/mms

im using buddyz. but now it is no longer free calls. wtf happened ? damn frustrated.
btw, i bought this Digi easy prepaid for RM35 . my friend bought it for 16.80. is mine is fake one ?

    • Anonymous

If you have just purchased your DiGi Easy Prepaid, please take note that the FREE calls between BUDDYZ are only applicable from 12am – 8pm. As for the price, RM16.80 is correct.

You may have bought a “special” number or got cheated by the seller.

  • Szemei_tan

what if people use talktime advance to get credits from me? does it work?

    • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

Hi. No it will not work. There is no way you can transfer out your credit to someone else if you use this plan. The only way to reduce the credit is by using it (call/sms/data)

Mesej pukul berapa? Sekarang, panggilan & mesej percuma hanya sehingga 6pm.
