Finally, Maxis has revealed their pricing structure for Apple’s iPhone 4. The pricing is standard. Please refer the table below for more details :

That will be the pricing structure for iValue plan. This type of plan is a bundled package which gives you certain amount of call minutes, sms, mms & internet bandwidth. If you have used up those given “freebies”, then you are going to pay extra. As you see in the table, there are 2 type of contract which are 12 months & 24 months. You can choose either 16Gb or 32Gb version of iPhone, depending on your preference & affordability.

Now, let’s look at Maxis data plans. Please refer to the table below :

If you already subscribed to a postpaid plan from Maxis & you would like to maintain it, then you can take up this data plan. It is an add-on to your current phone plan where you can get to subscribe for internet plans & get this iPhone 4. There are 2 type of data plans. The 1st one is priced at RM50 for 500Mb (iData 2) & the second one is at RM99 for 3Gb (iData 3). I am wondering where is the iData 1. I seriously couldn’t find iData1 plan at Maxis iPhone 4 site.

Now, this will be the best part. Maxis has realised that there are many iPhone 3G & 3Gs users who will be interested to upgrade too. Unfortunately they might be tied up in a contract. So don’t they have an option to buy iPhone 4? Certainly there is. How? Get another number & tie up for another 24 months? Whoops, that is a great waste. That is why Maxis has came up with this “contract upgrade” thing.

So what is contract upgrade? This is what Maxis says :

Contract upgrade allows existing customers on a contract to purchase a new iPhone while retaining their existing mobile number.

If you are currently under a phone contract with Maxis (iPhone and selected smartphones), then you are eligible for a contract upgrade*. A contract upgrade extends your current contract for either 12 or 24 months depending on how many months is left on your existing contract.

For instance, if you are on a 12 months contract with 6 months remaining, you can purchase an iPhone 4 by extending the months on your current contract. Your new contract duration will be a total of your remaining months + the new contract upgrade period.

E.g. 6 months (remaining contract) + 12 months (new contract upgrade) = 18 months (new contract period)

I am certainly excited with this. It is a good move to retain your customers. Now, is this already available in the market now? Nop, not yet. Maxis iPhone 4 will be in the market exactly on the 26th of September, 2010. That will be only for Klang Valley people ;) . For the rest of you who are from other states, not to worry because you can already get it at the nearest Maxis stores on the 27th, which is just 1 day later.

The branches in Klang Valley area where you can get yourself an iPhone 4 are :

1) KLCC

2) Pavilion

3) Mid Valley Gardens

4) Sunway Pyramid

5) TTDI

The list of Maxis centres from the rest of the state can be obtained from HERE (it is a Microsoft Excel sheet).

By the way, if you are an existing Maxis customer, you can even get an iPhone 4 launch event. Which will be held at The Gardens, Mid Valley. More details below at the screenshot :

iData 1 plan is RM38 a month for 250mb. This particular data plan is not available for iPhone 4 yet. But once they offer iPhone 4 for outright purchase, then customers would have iData 1 as an option.
