For the past few weeks, the people in RIM were scratching their heads due to the recent issues where some countries are planning to ban RIM’s Blackberry services.

According to these countries, RIM’s database is too secure for its users where even the government can’t have access to tap any suspicious communications. This makes the countries insecure instead. Now, RIM has made a proposal where local security agents will monitor the service & the Indian government can tap into Blackberry users’ email whenever necessary.

The Indian government is currently reviewing the proposal & we can get the result in 60 days. I am not sure whether RIM has successfully avoid a ban in India but 1 thing for sure, the ban has at least been postponed :)

I am writing this article because it is also related to Malaysia. Earlier this month, Malaysia was also reviewing the process to ban Blackberry services after few countries like Arab Saudi, UAE & even Germany was considering a ban too. Hopefully we can still enjoy the BB service in Malaysia.
