It is quite often I hear this from people nowadays. Many have complained about this to me. It is good that I got to know about it but as I hear this very often, I am just wondering, “how many people out there who don’t know anything about this?”

Do you have any idea on Celcom’s new dirty tricks in the market today? My friend told me that recently he was passing by a Celcom booth where the agents were giving free sim cards. As it was just another FREE sim card, then my friend thought why not just take it. All the agents told him was it is a free sim card & he only needs to fill up a form.

Everything was done & my friend went back. There was nothing suspicious & everything was ok until he received a sms in the night (same day). The content of the sms was, his porting out from DiGi to Celcom was successful. That was a great shock to him. The moment he saw the message, he immediately called DiGi CS but it was too late. Everything has been completely switched to Celcom.

Unfortunately he lost his credit (about nearly RM100) because all credits will be forfeited when porting out is done. Not only that, his DiGi plan is also gone & when he tried switching back to DiGi, he couldn’t get back that plan anymore as the plan was no longer offered. That was a great loss for him.

So, folks, we learn from mistakes & it is not necessarily from our very own mistakes. We can also learn from others. So please avoid filling up any forms which is unclear or if they give you free sim cards for no reasons, just throw it back to their face & walk off.

Sharing is caring, & I hope that I’ve shared a good message with all of you :)

That’s all from me this time. Cheers to all of you & happy always.

Celcom is crap. I wonder how many years they’ll try this “free SIM card” thing. They even have to do this shit at Subang Jaya KTM station, imagine how low they have to stoop in order to scam. And to people who are working in Celcom… only idiots like you think you get paid for your time’s worth. Fuck Celcom, switch to Digi (I ain’t Digi employee though LOL)

    1. I’ve a question. If you have no intention to switch, why sign papers to get the free sim card?
    2. Is there any fine print in the papers he signed? It really pays to read fine prints in any paper you put your signature on.
    3. Your friend should file an official complaint to Celcom. All telcos sub out sales to agents. The agents might be doing this ‘trick’ without the knowledge of Celcom anyways.

    1) When it is FREE, why would someone say no? No intention to switch but to make use of the free credits in the sim before throwing it away.

    2) Well, typical mentality…..to read the fine prints takes ages. They are approaching people at pubilc places & these people are rushing to their destination & will not spend time reading the prints. Well, it is a great mistake though. I would definitely read the fine prints.

    3) Already done. I don’t think it will help. I’ve also heard of many cases like this & I am sure it has reached Celcom’s ears as well. Whether action is being taken or not is another story.

I’ve always hated celcom. They’ve been very unethical for a very long time. How they’re getting away with it is totally beyond me. If it was me, I’d dump the number straight away and get a new one. I’d rather go through the hassle than be a customer of such company.

actually Ive experienced it…its at the sg wang plaza ground floor near mcdonald..the main wide stairs there…i ACCEPTED but after he said that I need to register in the paper, i gave it back to him..but I dont think its celcom’s tactic…I think its the seller’s tactic la..those kids is the same age people who try to sell insurance at me at shell gas station..definately out of ethics.
