This time, I would like to share my experience related to the infamous commercial fitness centre, Celebrity Fitness. Previously I was a Fitness First member. Due to time constraint & of course, the price, I’ve decided to stop from there. It was a great place actually. Unfortunately it was just not convenient for me to go all the way to KLCC (nearest to me), look for a parking & so on.

After 2 years (if I am not mistaken), I’ve decided to join them again. When I inquire about their pricing, it was a whooping sum of RM175/per month for home membership (previously I was only paying about RM158, which was already very expensive for me). So I thought of going to other fitness centres.

Advert :

I had few options, which were :

1) Celebrity Fitness

2) California Fitness

3) Normal ghetto gym near my area

After filtering out, I felt that Celebrity Fitness has a good offer. Furthermore, I am a DiGi user & they have a promotion where DiGi users can try their gym services for 3 weeks. Other than that, I was also told that Celebrity Fitness has acquired California Fitness.

So the next day, I went to their branch in Wangsa Walk, KL to get the trial. The consultant who assist me was Coral. After asking about their package etc, I was told that the monthly membership fee was RM139 (which is fine) but there was an extra one time registration fee of RM99 + RM40 (which I am not sure why). I thought that maybe it is their pricing structure & didn’t question any further. What made me pissed off is, when I asked about the 3 week trial for DiGi users, she just told me that there’s no such thing.

According to DiGi, I just need to flash my phone with “DiGi” operator logo in order to get the promotion. When I asked here, she just denied it. I even accessed DiGi website from my phone & showed her. She still DID NOT BELIEVE ME. She said that I need to show a special invitation message for that offer. At 1 point, she even said that 3 weeks is RIDICULOUS. So, was I lying? At the end she said she can give maximum 1 DAY trial but not anything more. I just left the place. It was a total waste of my time. In this case, is it DiGi’s fault or Celebrity’s Fitness’s fault? You will know shortly.

I then tried to get more info by dropping an e-mail to Celebrity Fitness, & this is what I got :

After reading it, I felt completely cheated. The consultant said RM139. Email says RM119. The consultant said no DiGi promotion but e-mail says yes. Which one to believe? So now, we already know that it is definitely not DiGi’s fault. At this point, I just assumed that there was a misunderstanding within Celebrity Fitness & thought of giving another try. By the way, did you realised that the the person who respond to my email said that is is only 2 weeks @ 14 days trial for DiGi promo? Take note on that.

After 1 month (due to my tight schedule), I went back to Celebrity Fitness at Wangsa Walk again. This time I met another consultant (I don’t remember his name but it is Faizal or Azril something). He was a skinny guy with broken English (not to tease him but because of his broken English, he sounded SO RUDE!!). This time, I brought my friend along. He actually went there 1 week ago & there was another consultant who offered only RM139 monthly & waived the other extra charges. Funny isn’t it?

This guy (consultant), again brought me through the normal cycle & finally end up with the RM99 + RM40 & monthly RM139. I asked him that why is it RM139 for an express fitness centre? (Wangsa Walk is a smaller version which is called express). I told him that I rather go to a bigger outlet which is also RM139. Express by right should only be RM119. This is when his broken English comes into picture. At 1st he said, “If you can prove that you can still get it for RM119, I will pay for your membership.” Is he challenging me? I then took out the print out of my e-mail & showed him. That’s when you should see. His face was pale & he just went & looked for his manager.

After some time, the manager (her name is Adeline), came & spoke to us. She was nice & polite. She just apologised & said that there was an error with the e-mail. At one point she said that the e-mail was dated last month & offer has already changed. Then I told her back that I know very well that even last month the price was RM139 & asked her not to bullshit with me because I personally spoke to Coral before sending out that e-mail.

She then excused herself & went to confirm that e-mail. Since it was a Sunday, she was not able to confirm & she told us that she will get back regarding this matter by Wednesday. Then my friend asked for the BEST current offer. After discussion & some arguments, the manager finally agreed to give RM139 per month & waived the other registration charges.

While me & my friend were discussing, this broken English guy came into the picture again. This time he said, “the email is wrong. I DARE you that you will get RM119. “

Damn, this bugger is killing me with his words. How dare he use the word “I DARE YOU”. If he cannot speak in English, he should just speak in Malay then.

After discussing, my friend agreed to subscribe but I just took the DiGi’s 3 week offer (take note – when I came in on that day, there was already a indication of DiGi’s 3 week trial on their counter. How silly Coral could be)

Well, that was not the end yet. My friend who decided to become a member almost got a headache because of the broken English guy. After discussing for hours, he showed my friend the bill to sign. AGAIN, the additional registration charges were there. This time, the RM99 is waived but the RM40 is included. He gave a voucher of RM99 to my friend & said the RM99 is waived because of the voucher but RM40 will still be charged. He immediately stood & told the manager (who was standing nearby), “if it is this complicated, you do not need to trouble your self  & me. I will not sign up”. Then the manager said the RM40 will be waived as well (what the hell?). This is the funniest part. The broken English guy cancelled off the RM40 but wrote there RM5 (damn silly).

When that happened, my friend immediately stared at the manager & that guy. Realised that my friend was pissed off, the manager immediately came towards us & cancelled off the RM5 charges as well.

I am just wondering, why is it so complicated there? By the way, just 3 days ago, I received an e-mail from Celebrity Fitness regarding their previous e-mail. They apologised & said that the previous e-mail was an error. Below is their e-mail :

I just replied, saying that it looks more like a trick than a mistake (a real dirty trick).

Until now, I wouldn’t know whether it was a mistake or their trick, but 1 thing for sure, I will not join Celebrity Fitness anymore. It is just a waste of my time & energy (as well as money) to go there 2 times & get all types of excuses.

Anyway, sorry for the super long story guys.  :)

Their consultant and admin really look stupid then. Cant even manage an express fitness centre. What a shame…

  • Anis

I agree with all of you generally, I think it’s a cool place to hangout and workout but their admin kinda crappy.

Recently they charged me twice in Jan,I gave them a call, with no apologies whatsoever, they promised not charge the following month.Which they still charge anyway in the month of Feb.Again I called. The same cycle repeats itself with no apologies and promise not to charge in Mar.So recently, they did charged again and I’m just getting tired of their inefficiency and nonsense.

Thanks for sharing ur thoughts on Celebrity Fitness, i was just about to sign up there next week. Considering the problems they have with their admin, I would still love to see and experience how they would consult me. It would be even better if the broken english guy was the one consulting me. =) oh, I’ll get him. Thanks again.

i should read your email first i become their member…now i feel regretted not because of the facility but the service itself…. i have 2 stories to share.

Firstly, about their PT’s atitude particularly this guy name Reez. The 2 days free session with the PT should focus on how to use the equipment or at least share some info about the anything related, instead he spent most of the time tried to persuade me to join their PT program which i nicely rejected. i understand that they have figures to achieve as me myself also coming from service industry. but the statement that he made really pissed me off..he sounded,”kalau you tak join PT program, you hanya buang duit, buang tenaga and buang masa datang sini. Lebih baik duduk rumah jaga suami.” i totally stunned with the statement which i found very rude.

Secondly, on my 3rd day, i found that the membership is only RM139 in stead of what i’m paying now RM179. i found out from the guy at the tower table on the price different. but when i called back Anson, the CF guy, he told me that it’s only for promotion and now promotion has ended… now i really dun know which is right and wrong. i will go and find the manager…

yeah you are right… it’s their dirty trick that i would never expected from such “prestige” fitness center that kind of service…

the only thing i like about the place is b’coz it’s only 5 minutes drive from my house.

    Hey All,

thank you for the info… I’m so glad that I’ve found this blog before i directly go the their place. I never heard about their services like what u just wrote.

I am planing to be a member with them by this July because all my friends given me a good comment about their trainers is superb, but after reading your comment and knowing there was a trick in here and there, its make me think twice. May be i should look for more info before joining any fitness center.

Anywhere thank you for sharing this info.

Its good to complaint for them to analyze their service but dont just complaint. If u have any compliment, post it here. Sometimes people like to complaint bad things about other prople, but when comes to good things, nobody wants to share. Just keep quite.

But for me, I had joined the membership for almost 14months at 1U and finds that their service OK…just to share with u…

There are sign that Celebrity Fitness Consultants trying their best to sell at highest price possible. If you are considering to join, you should negotiate to ask them to waive away the registration and processing fees – entirely unnecessary! They have already make much profit from the monthly membership fees.

  • http://Website Tommy

I’m just browsing the internet for the best available fitness center to join. But from your description, it seems like these fitness center charge a very high monthly fees & they are more on branding themself as a pioneer.
Wangsa Maju branch is my 1st priority to join earlier, but now, I might find out more and be caution before joining any of these clubs.
    Thank you for your sharing.

:) I’ve joint CF Wangsa Walk for 6 weeks. The facilities (sauna/changing rooms/shower with shampoo+Sh gel/hair dryer/scale/clock/locker/drinking water/mat) & equipments & classes of instructors & convenience(near by house/office+inside shopping mall) are satisfying. (I’ve rated 9/10 after 2 weeks trial got an evaluation called from them). True, the way they promote trainer is bored, the `fluctuation’ of charges is making people `lose confidence’. I’m paying RM179 for `All Club’ but currently using `One club’. I’d recommend friend to join la. I think if CF pays their staffs well, they may be servicing us like we go 5 stars hotels? Otherwise, they’ll be like Sushi King’s/Padini’s staffs greeting with mouth but poker faces?

  • http://Website mei

i joined the gym after taking up their 3 weeks free trial in february..i went there once in january and it is this stupe lady coral who attended me..i told her 139 is too pricey..and i need to think about it..overall i dont like her face so i just walk off..she din even bother to talk to me after i said im not interested..muka sampah!
anyway this place is getting crowded..the classes are fine but the machines are always packed…i guess i can only use the machines on weekends or at late hours..sigh..

  • http://Website chinchin

Interesting comments. u guys are right. It looks like there’s no coordination among the staff. As for communication problems, I agree that many of them cannot speak properly in English and hence, kinda rude too. I think they should go for some kind of communication or personal grooming training courses where they’ll be taught how to talk to clients politely….. The gym is getting crowded because doing sales are more important than maintaining the quality of the services rendered…..One more thing i noticed about this gym is their funny and weird policy that says only those who engage PT sessions are allowed to use the equipment in an enclosed/private area. What if the member does not need PT anymore, is he/she not allowed to go in until he/she signs up again? Thus, we have to continue to sign up for PT? this is the first time i’ve come acrosss such treatment, i mean, no access to certain area or equipment in a gym. This really pissed me off. FYI, i’ve gone to a few gyms and there’s no restrictions whatsoever.
why I’m stuck with this gym is its distance from my house, rather convenient than Fitness First in KLCC. Crossing my fingers, there will be a competitor in the near future in the area!!

  • http://nowebsite California & Celebrity Fitness Member

    Hi, nice blog.

Sorry to hear about your cf experience.

My advise is that, don’t join the wangsa maju express club, its a newly opened club.

Try the club at lot 10 or midvalley. You can get the 2 weeks free trial easily and you can negotiate the price to waive off the 99 reg fee or the 40 activation fee or watever fees they wanna add in later on.

I wanna inform all the readers here that, the main culprit here are the Sales Consultant and the Personal Trainer. Admin and front counter staff are innocent, i m defending them because i m a long time member and the admin & front counter staff have no direct money conflict when you sign up or take the pt lesson.

All the commission goes to the sales consultant and pt trainer. The admin & staff get nothing but trouble from member after the sales consultant or pt trainer conned some member by signing them up with high monthly fees like rm199 while other SMARTER MEMBER gets to pay only rm119 monthly.

The SALES CONSULTANT are very greedy, if they manage to sell u the 199 or 179 or 159 or 139 price instead of 119, their commission will be higher. Unless that particular sales consultant have hit his/her quota during that month, then he/she might give u a lower price to sign up for membership.

These are my experience, if you wanna complain, u should straight away direct it to the Sales Manager Or Personal Trainer Manager of that certain club.

Admin & Front Counter Staff are doing a good job and getting scolded by member everyday hehehe for problem and trouble caused by the sales and pt department.

  • http://Website Consultant in One of celebrity fitness

bro….i know your confuse &wondering why is it so complicated….but there are reason’s behind it
like the charges of RM5 is actually called a proration…everyday u enter the gym it has a diff rate just like a hotel ..on the 15th and 30th the proration is actually RM0 since its the billing date.
RM139 is actually the lowest rate day offer unless ur looking at kepong club with a price of RM 119 if i m not mistaken…i stoped working for a few months in celebrity fitness.

RM99 =Processing fee, which can be waived if ur a student. So asyou can see the only non fixed priced is actually the proration…

Other then that why did coral did not offer u the 3weeks trial is because as a consultant they “hunger” for sale therefore anybody come’s with a free trial their job is to deny it.
So the person should be blame is actually the manager which stressed ups the consultant to make sales without caring for customers.

Anybody who would like to know more how CF work just let me know thx you.

    • Adan DaQuaintDevil

Bro, you know what… From the original post, the main issue was the consultants/admins of CF. They were so confused themselves, nevertheless their customer relation skills were way bad. They have to improve that, cuz they themselves seemed not to know their products, neither that they know how to sell such without making people feel cheated. They should master that!

    Hi all, thanks for sharing.
i would like to join the fitness club and my concern are convenience and facilities. i have consider FF which just same building with my current company but I’m worried if i leave here that’s quite troublesome to come here as the parking lot is limited and expensive. So CF is another choice, i not sure the sweet lady is consultant or what, I was told that membership fee is going increase in this week, it will be 199 instead of 149, and other charges, the down payment will cost me more than 600, i almost LOL how come it can be so pricey! And I’m wondering how could be so coincidence.
Btw, is anyone know the membership fee for FF, I’m considering the outlet at IOI, any comment about it?

    • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

      Hi

If I am not mistaken, the price in FF for passport is RM185. There is some admin/registration fee which will be waived if there are any promotions going on.

Not sure about the price for 1club though.

You can refer to this link for some info regarding FF.

I have a different kind of story… Well, I lost 3 kg., trimmer, fitter than I used to be. I have a fantastic trainer, David, who is professional and knows what he is doing. I have moved from 36 to 60 sessions and who knows, I might continue (the 60 sessions haven’t expired yet). Personnel who knows me are friendly and helpful when I am there. I have no complaints…..yet, only my advice-try not to ‘oversubscribe’.

Thank you for sharing (supaya kita semua boleh take-note & berhati-hati of such promotion which doesn’t exist).

I’ve signed-up at the CF Wangsa Walk a month ago when my friend introduced me there. Luckily i got this one well-mannered lady named Husna as my consultant, so i was satisfied to have to pay the RM99 one-time-fee. BUT my friend who brought me there suddenly felt cheated after hearing all of Husna’s thorough explaination. My friend’s previous consultant was Andrew (he no longer works there when we came) who had unfortunately gave a few of wrong information and misleading info too.

Alhamdulillah, I’m also pleased with my coach/trainer (a young lady named Ekyn) who also had been very professional upon conducting the Basic Training 1 [B1] & Basic Training 2 [B2] with me. She had been very punctual, dedicated and very generous with her exercising-tips.

Conclusion? Do your homework before signing-up to any long term contract =)

My friend was working in celebrity fittness, in mid valley. Everything is going smoothly, till the day which so call the district manager of celebrity fitness comes in. (Mr. Halxx) A demoted district manager, is just a piece of shit? Let me ask u som questios : Don’t u feel its stupid when a district manager don’t allow their staff to go for lunch, not even allow them to go toilet or out from the office just becoz of the sales r bad? (provided the club manager of mid valley is like got no rights to say a shit) N fire the new staff imediately becoz they cant get enough appointment n sales? N with no compensation for them? If he still incharge of the club, the club is goin to be shit as well. everything will be srewed up just becoz of a fcked up, crazy, district manager.

Hi all, I live in W. Maju n been a member of CF/Mid Valley 4 almost 2 years now .. Thought of changing 2 W. Walk CF branch, paid 139, n after one day, yes ONLY ONE day I decided 2 go back 2 CF MV n had 2 pay 99RM in fine cuz CF WW really sucks from facilities 2 sales ppl 2 PT’s everything .. Now, CF MV is better when it comes 2 facilities n equipment n slightly the staff there – though many of them r not friendly specially the girls – .. I had a few complaints, which I had sent 2 the CF HQ in Indonesia, got an evaluative call from them, gave them 5/10 4 the location only n not 4 anything else, posted on their FB wall, they promised 2 look in2 my complaints – which were all reasonable related 2 treatment – n of course NOTHING happened .. All the good sales ppl either have left or on the way of leaving (Like Jenny@MV n Santana) .. In short, CF sucks, n if u have any chance 2 change or not join them, then take it .. The problem is that I cannot find a decent nice club near W. Maju other than them … Haven’t tried any other clubs as well … I am not Malaysian by the way, hence my point of view is from a different angle …

I saw this post after I signed up for CF yesterday. I have to completely agree with what you have written here. I went in and my first question was what are your charges. Instead of answering my question, they kept on doing their marketing stuff stating how awesome they are and stuff. The girls at the reception desk are really rude. My requirement was that I needed a personal trainer and instead of answering my questions on the rates, they began selling why I need a personal trainer. Finally, when it came down to rates, they said their normal rates are 189 RM/m and if I join on day 1 it will be 169RM/m and i I take trainer it will be 149 RM/m etc. It must be their inability to communicate in English or my hearing problem, I gathered that the rate for a personal trainer is 1900RM for 12 months. Lucky for me after making the payment, I enquired about the rescheduling of sessions if I am out of country and they informed me that RM1900 was for 12 sessions only. i.e. 12 hours. I immediately asked them to cancel the transaction and got them to refund the amount. The facilities looked good but if you want to join, be informed that if you haggle you can get the rates reduced or you will end up losing about 50 – 70 RM monthly.

Whoa~ glad to found this article as a feedback! It increase my alertness after reading it! Sad that I only saw this after I’ve joined CF 1 week ago.. Should have done more homework before signing-up for their package.. Yeah, I agree with you that they were way “tricky” in promoting their package.. Here is what that happens to me..

Firstly, I’m there to try their 7 Days Free Trial which were offered by them on the web for the new customers.. I’ve told myself not to sign-up for further workout package after the trial ends, as I’m still a student and have problems paying such expensive fees on my own.. I couldn’t asked my parents to sponsor me as they would have killed me if they found out about this!! Besides that, I have to drive to Gurney Plaza’s CF at Penang just to workout every weekdays after my school ends by lying to my parents that I gotta stay back at school for activities!! Sounds insane isn’t it? Even myself couldn’t believe I’m doing this and no one actually knows what I’m up to.. Oh well, it’s like I’m digging for my own grave for causing such unwanted stress..

But then, on the first day of the trial, I’ve already been persuaded to sign-up their 2months student package which they only offer to 25 students from KDU college for rm234 (with the processing fees waived), which they said it’s a better deal than the normal RM125/mth.. Thought that I wouldn’t have been a victim for the deal as I’m a Form 6 student, not KDU.. But hahaha, I was wrong!!! My sales consultant then called his senior to talked to me.. He said that the promotion were over recently and they already had 25 students in it already.. But he will give me an exception offer by trying his best to squeeze me in for the promotion if I can pay them rm234 as soon as possible..LOL!!!

WTH?! I mean who will bring that much of money to school as a student?? So I just paid RM40 deposit and settle the rest on the next day with my debit card.. Felt kinda insulted when I told them that I could only pay them the deposit first or told them that whether I can make any other alternatives payment.. Like they’ve never seen people who pay like this way before lol.. So they asked for my student id (note: non-KDU student id) for the subscription after the payment.. and AMAZINGLY~ IT WORKS!!! Lol.. Is the policy dead as they can change it like whatever they want or it’s just some kind of dirty trick to hook the students up by telling them fancy stories beyond the truth??

By then, I felt cheated once again when I got my statement for the payment and noticed that the actual amount is only RM234, not RM240 that I paid!! Ishh..never mind la.. Just take it as an extra RM6 to pay for the so-called “special exception offer”.. Overall, I still haven’t face any problem with CF in Gurney branch.. Just need to consider well and think twice before signing-up for any further contracts and so on..

Sorry for my bad English….I was signed up before at CF Wangsa Maju.  Initially I heard the fee was only RM119 during the opening. Then, I went there and meet one the consultant and he told me the promotion price of RM179 for CF worldwide and I was asked him for the lowest rate but he told me that nope at that moment. I finally signed up the membership after 3 days because I was so desperate to reduce my weight at that moment.  Then after few weeks I found up from the trainer/staff that the others members had only pay for RM139 for one center only.According to them, they were actually not allowed to reveal the price to potential customers only the consultant will do that. I’m really shocked, I have argued to the manager, but they give me a tones of excuses since I was already trapped with the contract.

Then next 4 months, i was so busy and asking for “rest” for one month, unfortunately i have to provide an official letter from company or any medical cert to proof on that. Hahahhah..funny  to die!! I have no time to do it and to think about the stupid things, so i just turn up for few days in a month. Just a big waste from my pocket!!! Finally I got fed up when it came to fasting month which definitely I could not turn up for that month. The consultant said u can come at nite, I think he not fasting and even not went for the nite pray.

I feel so feed up then i terminated the membership after 8 months but I have to pay the remaining months of penalty for the contract of 1 year. I just want to get myself out of that stupid contract. Fya. The place so called CF Wangsa maju is only Express standard but its too cramp for the size. The equipment and space is small and limited and during weekdays nite it always full with trial users. So, I was paid for RM179 have to Q  and compete to use the equipment with them,
For me, there is nothing special at CF Wangsa Maju the only attractive is the orange disco lighting hahahha.  Few trainers/Consultants also not really fit and i had also questioned the management how can they hire such people to work in that kind of place.
I would definitely sure those who really admire to the trainers because they get good attention from the them “gatal type”. My advice, do not signed up there, find the alternative and I do really hope others operators will come into the market and open the new center at Wangsa maju/Setiawangsa Area with lower and convenient service.  I think the nature of business CF Wangsa Maju is just for short term which only focused for revenue not for long term prospect to serve good service to the customer!! What a waste business.

Plssssss dot be stupid and desperate to sign in before you really sure on everything, I think my experience give me a lessons, Any suggestions for new gym & fitness lembah Klang area???

To the commentators who disagrees with the writer as being a complainer… unfortunately you are doing the same.  Sadly you have missed the point of the article and have yet to be a member of any club.  It was an informative article advising all of us consumers to beware of this nonsense practises when joining a fitness club.  If you don’t appreciate the heads up, just move on…

Personally I believe it’s quite possible for such mix up’s to occur .. however I believe it isn’t all Celebrity Fitnesses .. I think maybe it’s just the wangsa walk one .. i just subscribed for gym + PT at 3k at CF Sunway Pyramid .. and my sign up procedure took me no longer than an hour.. the Membership consultants were friendly and so were the personal trainers.. so while i don’t completely disregard the fact that there maybe some dirty tricks being played in terms of marketing i think it’s a lil wrong for you to complain about Celebrity Fitness in GENERAL … (the sunway pyramid gym is an express one too)

I am a CF member and had signed up for one of those long term membership plan as the rates were quite competitive at that time.  CF is great because it has many outlets which makes it convenient to get to.  However, for a “celebrity” gym, the state of the free weights they have for women is abysmal at best.  Firstly, there are VERY few free weights for women and  the weights are not labelled which means half the time, I am left guessing what weight I am carrying. In addition, the Personal Trainers have a tendency to hog 80% of the already limited free weights when they are conducting their PT sessions and completely disregards the needs of the other members. It’s as if members who do not subscribe to PT classes are second class citizens.  I have highlighted this before to the gym manager but as expected, they did not take any action.  Recently I found out that I am expecting and asked to freeze my membership. Foolishly, I thought it would be a simple procedure.   I  was taken aback when CF asked me to produce proof of my pregnancy; isn’t the bump itself enough proof? Do they really think their members would go around stuffing pillows underneath their dresses to deceive CF so that the members can freeze their memberships?  The straw that broke the camel’s back was when they told me that for every month that I freeze my membership, I have to pay them RM 38.  What’s the logic of paying for something one is not using especially when there’s a with a valid reason (and documented proof to boot)?
Unfortunately with such memberships, one is left with little alternatives and the gym administrators know it.  It’s unfortunate that they manipulate the situations to their advantage and disregard the most basic principle of customer service.  It has certainly left a bad taste in my mouth I have decided that once my membership lapses I will not sign up with them anymore.  I for one do not enjoy being held at ransom by such companies with such attitudes.

great. after juggling my mind to join which gym, now, i probably just stay home with my dumbbells and skipping rope… and the stairs. i used to go to the ‘ghetto’ gym before, but after moving to a new area, i couldn’t find nearer gym. probably, i’ll get one of the stationary bike / treadmill later.

  • Baland_al_haidari

Just 2 b reasonable, CF Wangsa Walk is the worst, in terms or both, personnel n equipment .. CF Mid Valley is ok, not the best but ok, bearing in mind that u might face some annoying incidents like a somewhat cocky staff or some rude reactions or sthg but all in all, it is bearable .. One thing 4 sure is, do not think they will stick 2 whatever they promise, like the account freezing thingy – during puasa or otherwise …

  • Malloopp

you all loser are trying to look for a cheap deal for your health?

well, good luck in getting a cheap hospital when you’re old and sick.

    cheapo.

  • Vettupoth

@504d55a89e4bb4e82b47dcb36b38cc1d:disqus You are either a raving idiot or a white bimbo chick with an old rich husband. The rest of the world believes in not spending their money unnecessarily on scam deals like Celebrity Fitness. Firstly, if I manage to get a cheap deal for the same facilities I am getting at CF, how the hell will it deteriorate my health? Also just by showing your ass in CF does not automatically grant you epitome of human perfection.

So my friend good luck finding a cheap hotel when you are old and sick as I am pretty certain you would have blown all your money (or the money of your old rich husband) on fraud ventures like CF. The rest of us will have enough money that we diligently saved by not joining CF.

    • Malloopp

why do you wanna join a gym in the first place? wanna look for cheaper way to get healthy? walk out from your house and start running.

get a cheap medical card first before you start running.

money is hard to come by, so you now exchange your health for money, and when you’re old, you exchange your money for health.

good luck in hunting for cheap gym deal.

btw, dont be cheap, get a home gym, and a gym room, if you can afford it. good luck in hunting for cheap deal.

This is good info and up to any individual to judge. However I think from the incident happened to Mr. Rodger, it is clear that the CF people are not genuine and being un-professional in running the business. It is not about money actually but a matter of principal. I’m a TTFC member and still am.Recently decided to join FF and no regrets and love the atmostphere and professional people there.

Omg..I can’t BELIEVE that so many people are in the same boat with me! I became a member about a week ago and I totally had no clue about 7 days free trial or RM75 for 3 weeks trial or any other shorter membership terms. I was told to sign up for 1 year membership for RM145 a month (they called it student price, but now that I read what you guys are getting, it doesn’t seem like student price at all) with RM80 as registration and processing fees (also, as I have known from some of you, those fees could have been WAIVED). I signed up and day by day, all these good promotions appeared right before my eyes. I was so furious I met with them three times to discuss the matter until they agreed to cancel my membership without the RM400 penalty. One more thing, I think that gym is very small, it is like an express gym as noted by you guys, but the price is definitely not cheaper. I actually like the gym very much you know. It is damn near my place and I love the variety of classes available. But I cannot stand them for not offering the trials and other packages to me. I will miss the gym when I leave, but I will never go back.

  • Malloopp

yea, gym salesman always trying to con ppl, they try to con those looking for cheap deal, those greedy ppl. wanna get rm2 stuff by paying rm1.

good luck ppl, you’re gonna spend the rest of your life doing stuff like this.

becos you can only afford rm1 stuff.

    • iBite

Hey, where’d you get your cheap brain from?

  • iBite

Rodger, it was a good, informative story, which seems to be backed by so many others who have had similar experience. I’ve been pondering on whether or not to join the new CF in SS2 Mall (express club), guess I am now better informed thanks to the intelligence shared here.

Btw, it is evident that some people just don’t even try to think about the various reasons people choose to pay to go to a gym. Guess they are the real cheapos for not using enough brain before they do anything else. :)

  • denesh mike

i tought of joining SS2 mall CF.. now with this  information I would banned CF from my gym list..

  • ami

interesting  experience you had there!… its not so bad. I have been with WW Celeb for the past 2 years apart from a smaller place with a big crowd, its still bearable. I guess for me the it was the distance between home and the gym. Not really picky coz i only do limited workouts. But what interest me most is the skinny specky guy you were talking about. He must have left. i dont mind just stirring up a conversation to see how “BROKEN” his english is …

    • How

no offense, but i think most people i met here are `broken English’ inclusive myself or even some University graduate or professional; sometimes, a language can’t judge how good or bad the person is, if you can’t express yourself with the foreign language, doesn’t mean that you’re stupid, i’m sure if Rodger can start with Malay & less defensive, the man’d be more nicer in his word.

  • EEE

Hey RODGER! Is Corel that hot consultant? Chinese, has sexy hair and smooth white skin and big sexy eyes? Or is that some other girl? Basically, it’s that hottest consultant there. What’s her name? Reps if you tell me.

  • EEE

Or is that hot lady Adeline?! Come on man. Please tell me. Someone?

  • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

I don’t see a point discussing about an incident which happened nearly 2 years ago. Yes, there is still something that we can learn from the article above but it is more a general lesson rather than being specific to Celebrity Fitness itself. Things might have changed by now, I hope. So I will close the discussion. Thank you.
