I just saw from DiGi’s website today. The word “prepaid” caught my attention. Not sure what exactly it is. I went further by clicking on their “more info” links but nothing was found there about the rates.

I’ve just taken a screen-shot from their website :

Any idea on their rates? If you have any information on the rates, please share it here. I would like to know too :)

UPDATE :

They have updated the website with the rates etc. Looks like it is a limited edition. Price is RM25 for 5 days, which is fine I guess. As for me, paying RM58 monthly for their other broadband plan is a better bet.

Here is the latest screenshot :

the rate is only RM2 per day. RM25 is just the price of the sim pack, which comes with 5 days of service. it’s a good deal if you are in DiGi’s 3G/HSPA service coverage and are not heavy data user.

    yeah..
i had purchase it last night..
so far i can say it worth than celcom/maxis prepaid which are rm6 and rm8 daily charges..
and please note that DIGI edge speed is stable and better than celcom/maxis.

im currently using digi prepaid for iphone 3g and digi deducted rm5 daily for internet service. i think this is too expensive to pay rm5 a day, they should reduce the price for mobile internet. celcom blackberry internet service is only rm2.50 advance and rm1 social. im using both digi and celcom.

That one will be DiGi’s normal prepaid plan. DiGi charge a max of RM5 for internet if you are a normal prepaid user. I see that DiGi is currently offering the lowest rate. Celcom is offering the same thing for RM6 & Maxis is RM8.

If Blackberry, DiGi is offering BIS for prepaid for only RM2 (this exclude tethering & streaming but you can surf net & get email notifications & use other push services without any restriction)

For DiGi prepaid internet (not normal prepaid), you will be charged RM2 daily. To purchase the sim pack, you have to pay RM25 & it has 5 days validity = RM10 credit inside. If you top up RM20 for example, you can use it CONTINUOUSLY for 10 days (yes, you can’t skip days). Hope it answer your question :)

hi..it is the simpack same with normal digi simpack.

hi..it is the simpack same with normal digi simpack.

Hi Hana. Nop, the package is different. Price is RM25 & inside got RM10 credit. It is not the same with normal DiGi sim.

Furthermore you can’t use it to make calls. Then If you use this sim, your APN setting is 3gdgnet, not diginet as how it is for normal DiGi prepaid :)

  • http://Website Asseri

Yang sebenarnya, berapa kos penggunaan untuk seminggu? Saya guna Celcom broadband prepaid, seminggu RM20 unlimited. Digi ni pula macamana?

    • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

Hi Asseri. For a day, it will be RM2. So for a week = 7 days, it should be RM14 ;)

It will be unlimited but there is a 100Mb cap daily. If you reach the limit, your speed will be throttled down.

as i heard now, people who currently using DIGI BIS can used the service as broadband to without any charges…is it true?

    • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

Hi Aiman, are you mentioning about tethering?

There are 2 ways. The first will be to use your phone as a modem & connect it to the computer. Then you can access your internet via that PC. It is called tethering.

The other way is to put your sim into a 3G USB modem & using it that way. For this, some extra settings are requires.

And yes, using both method is possible for DiGi BIS or Smart Plan RM68. Your charges will be zero unless you are using the old Smart Plan which is RM58 or using DiGi prepaid BIS.

Can I use Nokia E63 as a modem for my laptop for this Prepaid internet SIM pack?

    • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

      Hi Kael,

Yes, can. But you need to change the APN to 3gdgnet.

Another thing is, Nokia E63 only supports 3G but not HSDPA. So your internet surfing will be a little slow (which is still OK for non-flash sites).

  • http://Website Kael

    thanks for the info roger.

will be in KL for 5 days. was thinking for rent-a-broadband or just use my phone as modem and just buy the sim-pack.

    http://www.digi.com.my/internet/rent-a-broadband.html

    • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

      Hi Kael,

I suggest to use your phone if the speed is ok with you. DiGi has a term where if the modem spoil after you have collected it, they will not refund the deposit.

If you are still planning to proceed with the rental option, I advise you to test it thoroughly.

    thanks for the warning

i have a Huawei HSDPA USB stick here in my home country (Philippines). I’ll bring it and see if it will work with the DIGI simpack

hey i’m wondering, can i use the dg internet prepaid sim in my phone, and as well surf the net, in my phone.. I use sony k850i, support hsdpa..

    • http://blog.rodger.my/ Rodger

Yes, will not be a problem. It is just that you may need to ensure that the apn is 3gdgnet and not diginet if it is a internet prepaid (for broadband) sim.

      • aku senbei

i havee change the apn to 3gdgnet.but  my Huawei modem didnt detect the signal.
        how is it?
